macOS App Development and Testing

What's that in real money?

Understanding how much something will cost when you're quoting an hourly rate can be somewhat overwhelming. If you have an idea and a budget then you''re off to a good start but if you want to keep costs down then you should try to get a design for each screen done using one of the tools specially developed for the platform on which your app will be deployed. Sketch would be our recommendation. From those designs we'll be able to give you a better idea as to how long the development phase will take. We will identify common assets and build you a library of reusable components that essentially extend the programming tools that we'll ultimately use to create your app. That library will pay dividends should you need to rework your design or reuse for a companion product.

We'll take a top down approach to incremental builds of your product. Each delivery will be a “vertical slice” of what your app will ultimately be. In plain English, this simply means that the app will be sent to you screen-by-screen in the same order that your end-user will encounter then. The delivered screens will be as fully functional to the extent that they can be within that stage of the development. This will be of enormous help to you in determining the effort involved on our part and hopefully given you an idea of how long things will take overall. What we can say is that most projects run anywhere between 3 and 6 months (that AUD$20,000 to AUD$40,000) unless they have custom designs that are not readily available out-of-the-box. and have to be hand written from scratch.
